Cooking with Honey

www.ifood.tv
Did you know that you can substitute honey for other sugar in a recipe.  I did, but honestly I have never tried it until now.  We are big honey lovers in this house...love putting it in my green tea especially when my throat is scratching or sore!!  PB and honey sandwiches are one of my kids favorite lunch choices.  When baking you can substitute up to half of the granulated sugar in a recipe for honey.  For every cup you add reduce the non-sweet liquid by 1/4 cup and add 1/2 tsp. baking soda and lower the oven temp 25 degrees.

Also a good tip when measuring honey is to spray the measuring up with cooking  spray so that it does not stick.  Be sure to always check labels to make sure honey is 100%...honeys blends of honey and syrup are becoming more popular
